The more conventional is knitted fabric, which has better tensile strength.

The elastic raised cloth feels softer, and it is mostly used for luggage leather.

There are also plain woven cloth (pound cloth), which has no elasticity. More used for shoe leather.

There are also four-sided stretch knitted fabrics, which have tensile strength on the floor and are used for automobile door panel leather. The price is also relatively high.
